Solo, but systemised

How a freelance shoot runs in FlowShot.

Same structure as a studio, a lot less admin.

  1. 01 Inquiry

Reply to DMs with a link, not a PDF.

A lead messages you on Instagram asking "hey, how much for a branding shoot next Saturday?". You send them a proposal link (tiers, add-ons, timeline, contract, invoice) all on a single branded page.

    • Reusable package presets (half-day / full-day / brand shoot)
    • One link carries the whole conversation
    • Portal fully branded with your logo and colours (custom domain on Business)
    • Works on Starter plan
  2. 02 Booking

Get paid before the shoot, without the follow-up emails.

The client picks their package, signs the contract, and pays the retainer in one session. You get a Telegram ping when it's done. No more chasing "did you see the invoice?" the night before the shoot.

    • E-signature included on Starter plan, no per-envelope fees
    • Retainer invoice created on signature. You mark it paid when the money clears.
    • Telegram notification when the retainer lands
    • Balance invoice auto-created at signing, due 14 days later by default
  3. 03 Shoot day

One card with everything you need, on your phone.

Open the project in FlowShot on the way to the venue: client contact, shot list, timeline, address, parking notes, music playlist. When the shoot wraps, mark the card done and it slides into "Editing" on your Kanban.

    • Mobile-optimised project drawer
    • Shot list + timeline in one view
    • Priority flags for rush-turnaround jobs
    • Offline fallback when the venue's Wi-Fi is dead
  4. 04 Editing

Your own Kanban, even as a team of one.

Culling, editing, QA, delivery: all on a Kanban built around your real workflow. Priority sorting so the honeymoon-bound couple doesn't get lost behind the corporate headshots.

    • Custom Kanban statuses for your own workflow stages
    • Priority tags for rush jobs
    • Deliverable count + due date per card
    • Filter board by project type (photo / video)
  5. 05 Delivery

Send one branded link once the balance is paid.

Publish the final gallery or film to a branded delivery page. The client opens a page with your logo and colours. Mark the balance invoice paid in FlowShot, then send the delivery link, a step you control. Back to DMs only if they want to.

    • Custom domain on Business plan ($89/mo)
    • Send delivery link manually after marking the balance paid
    • Favourites, downloads, and expiry per gallery
    • Shareable link clients can forward to friends
What you get on Starter

Freelancer FAQ

Common questions from solo shooters.

How does the trial work for freelancers?
Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial, no credit card required. You get full access to FlowShot for 14 days: video review, delivery galleries, 3 team seats, and 10 GB of storage. At the end, enter payment details to continue or cancel with no charge.
How does this compare to HoneyBook for a freelancer?
HoneyBook starts at $19/month with no trial and no video review or delivery galleries. FlowShot starts with a 14-day free trial and bundles delivery + video review into the same subscription. For a freelancer doing wedding video or dual-format weddings, FlowShot is a single $25 Starter subscription ($49 Pro if you want linked photo+video projects); HoneyBook is $19 + Frame.io ($15) + Pixieset ($20) = $54 for the same coverage.
Can I connect my own domain?
Yes, on the Business plan ($89/mo). Point portal.your-name.com (or photos.your-name.com, or whatever you want) at FlowShot using the DNS records the setup wizard gives you. Proposals, contracts, invoices, and delivery all open on your domain. FlowShot provisions HTTPS automatically. On Starter and Pro, clients land on a FlowShot-served URL which is still fully branded via your Brand Kit.
Do I need to host my own galleries, or does FlowShot handle storage?
FlowShot handles storage. Starter 50 GB base, Pro 200 GB base, Business 500 GB base. Run out? Buy 50 GB blocks at $10/mo on Starter, $7 on Pro, $5 on Business. You upload, FlowShot hosts, clients download — you never touch S3 or Dropbox.
Does FlowShot include video transcoding and streaming for freelancers?
Yes. Upload your master and FlowShot transcodes it for streaming; plays smoothly on mobile and hotel wifi. Downloads serve the original master, so you skip the Vimeo or Frame.io subscription.
Can I upgrade and downgrade as the seasons change?
Yes. Switch between Starter, Pro, and Business any time. Typical freelancer flow: Starter or Pro from April through October when wedding bookings peak, downgrade to Starter in the off-season if you need fewer features. Your projects stay intact and there's no penalty for switching.
